Tonight Conor McGregor takes on featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in Vegas. Aldo (25-1) is pound for pound the best MMA fighter in the world and hasn’t lost a fight since 2005. The event is shaping up to be one of the biggest fights in UFC history.

Former light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell is widely credited for bringing mixed martial arts into the mainstream of American sports. In an interview for the show Undeniable with Joe Buck the UFC legend talks about his motivation:

Liddell holds the record with the most knockouts in UFC history at thirteen

“I always wanted to be the best at something. I always felt like I fell just short… Fighting was something I was really good at. And when I saw the shot to go after it, I’m like this sounds like a good idea. For me, it was just ‘this is my last shot at being the best at something.’ The best in the world. You can’t be the best unless you beat the best.”
